About JAI

Preserving a historical journal identity while building a contemporary scientific platform.

From the Original Series to a renewed journal

The Journal of Allelochemical Interactions was launched in 2014 in connection with the 7th World Congress on Allelopathy in Vigo.

The current project seeks to preserve that historical identity while relaunching JAI for the contemporary science of chemically mediated interactions. The New Series is conceived as broader than traditional allelopathy but more focused than general chemical ecology.

Scientific proposition

Modern work in this area increasingly connects specialized metabolism, root exudation, rhizosphere chemistry, microbial transformation, molecular responses, environmental change and agronomic application. JAI aims to make those connections its defining territory.

Current status

This presentation sets out the proposed scientific and editorial architecture of the New Series. Publishing arrangements, governance, editorial appointments and society endorsement will take effect only after formal agreement. Historical statements from the Original Series do not automatically apply to the New Series.
