A historical title, renewed for a changed field.
Journal of Allelochemical Interactions is being developed as a New Series: preserving the original journal as part of its scientific history while building a more rigorous, international and interdisciplinary publication for contemporary research.
2014 onward
The first JAI established a dedicated publishing space for research on allelochemical interactions. Its issues and articles are preserved in the historical archive of this site.

The renewed project expands the intellectual frame from classical allelopathy toward chemically mediated interactions across plant, soil and ecosystem biology, while setting a deliberately higher bar for causal inference.
Read the scientific scope →The science has moved. The journal should move with it.
From effect to causality
Bioactivity is a starting point, not the end of the argument. The New Series is conceived around evidence that connects compounds, realistic exposure, mechanism, environmental fate and biological consequence.
Across disciplinary borders
Modern allelochemical research crosses specialized metabolism, analytical chemistry, rhizosphere science, microbiomes, physiology, ecology, weed science and sustainable agriculture. JAI aims to make those connections visible.
Selective rather than large
The objective is not rapid volume growth. A focused launch, strong reviews and perspectives, rigorous original research and active editorial stewardship should establish the journal's identity first.
An evidence ladder for allelochemical interaction
Claims become stronger as the causal chain becomes more complete.

“From allelopathy to chemically mediated interactions in plant, soil and ecosystem biology.”
Proposed positioning line for the New Series.
Scientific rigor
Conclusions proportional to evidence, with explicit attention to realistic exposure and causal alternatives.
International community
A geographically diverse and gender-balanced editorial structure with complementary scientific expertise.
Historical continuity
The Original Series remains visible and accessible, while the New Series is clearly identified as a new editorial phase.
Transparent development
Publisher, society relationship, editorial appointments and submission arrangements will be announced only when formally confirmed.
The scientific positioning, evidence framework and launch architecture are developed for publisher discussion. Publishing agreement, formal society endorsement, identifiers, indexing and submission arrangements remain subject to formal agreement.
